Atlanta - Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo has been ruled out of the international friendly against Mexico scheduled for Wednesday in the United States.
Yobo sustained an injury in Norwich City’s 4-1 loss to Aston Villa in an English Premier League game on Sunday where he played for 90 minutes.
Media officer of the Super Eagles, Ben Alaiya said that the defender could not recover in time for Wednesday’s friendly, and will play no part in the game.
Yobo has been replaced with Leon Balogun.
The game was an opportunity for Yobo to make a return to the squad after 13 months. He last featured for the Super Eagles at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
